BANANA IMPORTS    [No debate]

        That this House takes note of European Union Document No. 13048/99, a draft Council Regulation amending Council Regulation (EEC) no. 404/93 on the common organisation of the market in bananas; and supports the Government's objective of achieving a revised EU banana regime which will not be challenged in the World Trade Organisation and which will reflect EU commitments to Caribbean and African countries, particularly the UK's traditional suppliers in the Caribbean.
