Disregard of maintenance
Mr Paul Burstow NC10 To move the following Clause:'The Secretary of State shall by regulations provide that, in the case of housing benefit and council tax benefit, there shall be disregarded from a parent with care's income any maintenance paid to the parent with care.'.
Calculation of benefit entitlement
Mr Paul Burstow NC11 To move the following Clause:'The Secretary of State shall by regulations provide that, in the case of housing benefit and council tax benefit, the income of a non-resident parent shall be calculated net of any maintenance paid by the non-resident parent.'.
Child maintenance disregard
Mr Andrew George NC12 To move the following Clause:'.(1) The Secretary of State shall by regulations provide that in determining the entitlement of a parent with care or her partner, if any, to income support or income-based jobseeker's allowance, these shall be disregarded as income the first £10 of any maintenance paid each week to the parent with care. (2) The Secretary of State may by regulations provide that subsection (1) is to have effect as if a different figure were substituted for the one set out therein. (3) The provisions of subsection (1) shall apply to all parents with care regardless of whether the child support maintenance payable to them has been determined under Part I of Schedule 1 of the Child Support Act 1991 as substituted by section 1(3) of this Act or otherwise. (4) Where payments of child support maintenance are made irregularly by the non-resident parent, that £10 (or such other figure as may from time to time be substituted) shall continue to be disregarded as though such payments were being made each week.'.
Presentation of information to Parliament
Mr Eric Pickles NC13 To move the following Clause:'There shall be inserted after section 43 of the 1991 Act "43A (1) The Secretary of State shall appear at least twice a year before the Social Security Select Committee for the purposes of providing the information set out in subsection (2) (2) The information referred to in subsection (1) is:
(3) In subsection (2), "the last appearance" means the most recent occasion on which the Secretary of State appeared before the Social Security Select Committee for the purposes of this section.".'.
