Clause 29, page 27, line 37, at end insert
'(8A) Those pensioners falling within band 1 above shall receive a total retirement pension.
(8B) The total retirement pension will be comprised of the basic state retirement pension and any additional pension as calculated by reference to subsection (5) above.
(8C) The Secretary of State shall be required to make an annual statement to Parliament to explain how the value of a tax funded pension schemethe total retirement pensioncompares in real terms to earnings related pension schemes.'.

Clause 29, page 27, line 37, at end insert

(8B) For the avoidance of doubt, a total retirement pension is not an earnings related pension.
(8C) The pension falling within band 2 above shall be separately described as the State Earnings Related Pension.
(8D) For the avoidance of doubt, the State Earnings Related Pension is earnings related.
