  WATER ADVISORY PANEL AND CONSUMER COUNCIL FOR WATER
  PART I
  SCHEDULE 1A TO BE INSERTED IN THE WATER INDUSTRY ACT 1991
 
 
 

 
 
 
"Schedule 1A
 
THE WATER ADVISORY PANEL
 
Appointment
     1. - (1) An appointment of a person to be a member of the Panel shall be for a term not exceeding five years.
 
      (2) Previous appointment as a member of the Panel shall not affect eligibility for re-appointment.
 
      (3) A member of the Panel may resign his office by giving notice to the Secretary of State.
 
      (4) The Secretary of State may remove a member of the Panel from office on the ground of incapacity or misbehaviour.
 
      (5) Subject to the preceding provisions of this paragraph, a person appointed as a member of the Panel shall hold and vacate office in accordance with the terms of his appointment.
 
 
Remuneration, pensions etc.
     2. - (1) There shall be paid to a member of the Panel such remuneration, and such travelling and other allowances, as the Secretary of State may determine.
 
      (2) In the case of any member of the Panel as may be determined by the Secretary of State, there shall be paid such pension, allowances or gratuities to or in respect of him, or such payments towards provision for the payment of a pension, allowances or gratuities to or in respect of him, as may be so determined.
 
      (3) If, when any member of the Panel ceases to hold office as such a member, the Secretary of State determines that there are special circumstances which make it right that he should receive compensation, there may be paid to the member such sum by way of compensation as may be determined by the Secretary of State.
 
      (4) Sums payable under this paragraph shall be paid by the Director.".
