TO

Make provision about policing in Northern Ireland; and for connected purposes.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
 

  PART I
  NAME OF THE POLICE FORCE IN NORTHERN IRELAND
Name of the police force in Northern Ireland.     1. - (1) The body of constables known as the Royal Ulster Constabulary shall continue in being as the Police Service of Northern Ireland (incorporating the Royal Ulster Constabulary).
 
      (2) The body of constables referred to in (1) above shall be styled for operational purposes the "Police Service of Northern Ireland."
