STATEMENTS ADOPTED AT THE BERLIN EUROPEAN
COUNCIL, MARCH 1999
"The European Council considers that the
decisions adopted regarding the reform of the CAP within the framework
of Agenda 2000 will constitute essential elements in defining
the Commission's negotiating mandate for the future multilateral
trade negotiations in the WTO."
"The European Council considers that further
price reductions are necessary in order to facilitate the enlargement
with the new member states and the future multilateral trade negotiation
at the WTO. The European Council requests the new Commission to
put forward the appropriate proposals."
