Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport Minutes of Evidence

APPENDIX 13

Memorandum submitted by Leamouth Group

Despite the recent news that the Jubilee Line is open, albeit only from Waterloo Station, and what would appear, at present, to be a rather unreliable service, we as a group are very concerned at the apparent lack of information available to enable people to access the Dome without using their cars.

There seems to be little emphasis placed on those people living in the south east some 12.5 to 15 million people who want to travel to the Millennium Experience. Many of these people are used to out of town shopping trips using their own car. It is therefore very likely that these same people will try to use their own cars to get into the Dome, and when they can't it is also very likely they will park their cars in and around the Blackwall Tunnel area on both sides of the river.

It is the lack of publicity that our members are concerned about and the impact it may have on their respective business.
