Memorandum from the Scottish Football
League (WP6)
I refer to your letter of 16 August, which has
now been considered by the Management Committee of The Scottish
Football League.
Whilst the criteria which govern the issue of
work permits to footballers who are not EEA Nationals have been
amended over the years, the Management Committee is of the opinion
that the recently introduced criteria and the operation of the
system, with the provision for appeal by unsuccessful applicant
clubs, is of benefit to the member clubs of The Scottish Football
League.
For your guidance there are, at present, only
two players playing for clubs in membership of The Scottish Football
League for whom work permits have been granted.
I trust this information is of assistance to
the Committee.
