Annex B
Once again European Union business will be bringing
us to your beautiful capital and to seek your kind assistance
in helping the FIFA and UEFA with the logistical aspects of our
visits to the European Commission, as your Chairman had previously
offered to do.
Presidents Blatter and Johansson have decided
to send a joint mission to Brussels to go into the earlier discussions
in more detail, especially those which took place at the meeting
of 10 November 1999 with Mme Reding. The delegation, which will
include, from FIFA, Mr Michel Platini and myself, from UEFA, Mr
Markus Studer and from FIFPro, Mr Gordon Taylor, will meet on
Thursday 24 February as follows:
from 10 to 11 am, Mr David O'Sullivan,
Principal Private Secretary to Mr Romano Prodi, President of the
European Commission,
address: Reyden Building, 46 avenue d'Angerghem
at 3 pm, Mr Gregory Paulger, Principal
Private Secretary to Mme Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Education
and Culture, in charge of Sport,

at 4.30 pm, with several administrators
from the General Competition Board (eg, DGIV),

A meeting has been requested with Principal
Private Secretary Mr Mario Monti, Competition Commissioner, but
a reply has not yet reached me.
As for Mr Platini, he will be arriving by car
direct from Paris on the morning of 24 February and will go to
the Hilton Hotel.
Mr Studer will be arriving at 10.25 pm on 23
February from Geneva (Swissair/Sabena flight SR 9382) and will
join Mr Platini at the Hilton Hotel on the morning of the 24th
to go to the first meeting together. The Deputy General Secretary
of UEFA will be returning to Geneva at 7.15 pm on 24.2 (Swissair/Sabena
flight SR 9379)
I myself will be arriving in Brussels on 24.2
at 8.45 am from Zurich (Swissair flight SR 880) and will be returning
to Zurich the same day at 8.30 pm (Swissair flight SR 891).
I will send you Mr Taylor's arrival and departure
details as soon as possible.
Finally, I would like to point out that Mr Zen-Ruffinen,
Secretary General, and Mr Monteneri will also be arriving on flight
SR 880 on 24.2, for a hearing before the European Commission of
a plaint against FIFA concerning players' agents.
I would be most grateful if you would let me
know if you will be able to provide your logistical support for
that day, which is looking like being an important one, and look
forward to speaking to you if you would like to discuss this visit
with me over the telephone (direct line: 00 411 384 95 13).
