QUOTAS—OVERSEAS
PLAYERS
As promised, I write to confirm the LMA's position
on EEA players (non EEC), and would ask that the information be
put before the Chairman the Rt Hon Derek Foster.

These are quotas to replace the present CRITERIA.
In addition, non EEC players who manage to obtain an EEC
passport (namely Argentinian, Brazilian, Australian and South
American) need to prove that they have spent at least 4-5 years
in a non EEC country before being allowed to play in England as
a full EEC player.
The LMA also have its own "idea" of quotas for
EU players, and should you need this information I will of course
supply it on request.
