Business and Biodiversity Guide (May 1998) - Five
Key Steps
The Business and Biodiversity Guide (May 1998), produced
by the UK Round Table on Sustainable Development, encourages the
use of the UK BAP and Local BAPs as a resource for businesses
and sets out five key steps to integrating biodiversity into an
Environmental Management System:
Step 1- List Building: identification
of activities and biodiversity effects; and identification of
local habitats and species.
Step 2 - Matrix and Review: identification of potential
risks and impacts on habitats and species.
Step 3 - Setting Priorities: assess significance
of potential biodiversity impacts.
Step 4 - Planning: development management programme.
Step 5 - Action: integrate action plan into business
process.
