Letter to Mr George Scarrott from Lambourn

LAMBOURN FESTIVAL
1999
On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank
you for coming to Lambourn over the August Bank Holiday and to
apologise for the behaviour of the small band of Lambourn youngsters
who made life difficult for you and your colleagues. We have spoken
with the police and expressed our disappointment that they did
not provide better support and, now that we are aware of the problem,
we will put more pressure on them next year to provide some police
presence at the Fair.
We do hope that you will return to Lambourn
next year as we feel that the Fair is an important part of the
Festival and we would be very sorry to lose it.
