tabled pursuant to Rule 45 of the Rules of Procedure by Mr Corbett on the size of the European Parliament in an enlarged EU

The European Parliament

    —  Whereas the Amsterdam Treaty lays down a limit of 700 members for the European Parliament.

    —  Having regard to the European Commission's Agenda 2000.

    —  Having regard to constraints on Parliamentary space both within the Brussels and the Strasbourg complexes.

1.  Proposes the following distribution of seats for a European Union of 21 Member States:
