Annex A: Comparative representation in
China
The total staff (including British Council)
covering our activities in China is summarised below, together
with a comparison of staffing in the missions of France, Germany
and the US. (France has consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou and
Wuhan, Germany in Shanghai and Guangzhou, and the US in Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenyang.)

However, comparison with other countries is not simple. Both
France and Germany have separate trade promotion organs which
are not formally part of their diplomatic representation overseas,
and therefore these figures do not include all their trade promotion
personnel in China.
