THIRD SPECIAL REPORT
The Social Security Committee has agreed to the following
Special Report:—
USE OF THE POWER GRANTED BY SECTION 82
OF THE WELFARE REFORM AND PENSIONS ACT 1999: RESPONSE TO THE 2ND
REPORT OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY COMMITTEE
1. The Committee's Second Report of Session 1999-2000,
on the use of the power granted by Section 82 of the Welfare Reform
and Pensions Act 1999, was agreed to by the Committee on 8 March
2000 and published on 21 March 2000 as House of Commons Paper
No. 315.
2. We have now received in the form of a letter
from the Secretary of State for Social Security the Government's
response to the Report, which is printed as an Appendix to this
Special Report.
