Note:
Freehold and buildings were revalued on 30 June 1995 by the Valuation Office, on the basis of open market value for existing use. Other tangible assets have been valued at cost at the time of purchase or at take-on to the Asset Register and all assets have since been revalued using the latest available indices. The Ministry's premises in London, York, Guildford and other places are Civil Estate property on which the department pays a capital charge in its capacity as the major occupier. The Minister holds certain agricultural properties referred to as "The Minister's Estate" and these are included in the above.
