Proposals for Deregulation Orders
Two proposals were laid before the House in Session 1998-99. The
Committee reported formally on both of them, making recommendations
as set out below:-
(i) that draft Orders in the same terms should be laid before
the House:
Deregulation (New Year Licensing) Order 1999
Deregulation (Casinos) Order 1999
(ii) that the proposals should be amended before draft Orders
are laid before the House:
None
(iii) that the Order-making power should not be used:
None
Draft Deregulation Orders
Four draft Orders were laid before the House in Session 1998-99:-
Deregulation (Pipe-Lines) Order 1999: (approved 19th January
1999)
Deregulation (Weights and Measures) Order 1999: (approved
25th January 1999)
Deregulation (Millennium Licensing) Order 1999: (approved
20th July 1999)
Deregulation (Casinos) Order 1999: (approved 20th July
1999)
The Committee recommended to the House without Division each draft
Order.
All four draft Orders set out above were considered and approved
by the House in 1998-99.
