(24) The brigades in Wales were restructured in April 1996. (North Wales--formerly Clywd and Gwynedd; Mid and West Wales--formerly Dyfed, Powys and West Glamorgan; and South Wales--formerly Gwent, Mid Glamorgan and South Glamorgan).
(25) Figures from 1994 onwards include late call, heat and smoke incidents. Prior to 1994 these incidents were not recorded.
(26) 1999 UK totals are estimated to take account of likely revisions to the data once further information from death certificates etc have been received. No estimates have been made for individual brigade areas.
