  Thank you for your letter of 27 November to Sue Hodgetts about the Secretary of State's evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the export of military equipment to Israel.

  I should also be grateful if you could bring to the attention of the Committee the attached letter of assurance from the Israeli Ministry of Defence, that neither equipment nor components licensed for export from the UK are used in the Occupied Territories.

USE OF UK-ORIGINATED EQUIPMENT DURING MILITARY ACTIVITY IN THE TERRITORIES

  1.  We were requested to check whether the IDF makes use of UK-originated equipment as part of the equipment employed in the Territories.

  2.  I can hereby certify that no UK-originated equipment nor any U.K.-originated systems/sub-systems/components are used as part of the IDF's activities in the Territories.
