Select Committee on International Development Third Report

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

We are most grateful to all we met when overseas for the time and trouble taken to explain to us their work on HIV/AIDS. Above all, we would mention the many persons we met living with HIV/AIDS engaged in educating others and combatting stigma. We are also grateful to the many who provided written evidence to the inquiry. We list in an Appendix all who gave oral evidence but would mention here the Rt Hon Clare Short MP, Secretary of State for International Development, and those who came to London from abroad with the express purpose of contributing to our inquiry, in particular Dr Peter Piot, Executive Director of UNAIDS, Carol Bellamy, Executive Director of UNICEF, Jacques du Guerny from the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), and Dr Brian Brink and Jenny Crisp from Anglo American plc. We also thank Simon Wright for his specialist advice during the course of the inquiry.
