Select Committee on Northern Ireland Affairs Fifth Report

Letter from the Northern Ireland Office to the Clerk

The Secretary of State has seen a copy of your letter of 26 June to [the Northern Ireland Office].

The Committee's recommendation in their Third Report that work be put in hand on preparation of a public expenditure report was passed to the Department of Finance and Personnel and pursued with them. That Department was considering what advice to given when devolution was restored and the matter no longer came within the Secretary of State's responsibilities.
