Mr Glenn Hull, Second Treasury Officer of Accounts, was further examined.

The Comptroller and Auditor General's report on Managing the Costs in English Further Education Colleges (HC 454) was considered.

Professor David Melville, Chief Executive, the Further Education Funding Council, and Mr Geoff Hall, Interim Director of Operations, the Learning and Skills Council, were further examined (HC 999-i).

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 3 read and agreed to.

Paragraph 4 postponed.

Paragraphs 5 to 51 read and agreed to.

Postponed paragraph 4 again read, amended and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Ninth Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No. 134 (Select Committees (Reports)) be applied to the Report.
