Select Committee on Public Administration Second Report

MEMORANDUM 13

Submitted by the Privy Council Office

Thank you for your letter of 9 June to Jonathan Capstick seeking information about why Ministers have refused to answer certain Parliamentary Questions. I have been asked to reply.

The President refused to answer one Question on the grounds that it would be inappropriate to provide details about the security clearance of individuals. This is consistent with Exemption 8 of the Code of the Practice on Access to Government Information.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
