Select Committee on Standards and Privileges Appendices to the Minutes of Evidence

APPENDIX 14

Letter to the Clerk of the Committee on Standards and Privileges from Mr Mark Stephens, Finers Stephens Innocent, Solicitors

MR KAPASI

Thank you for your letter of 9 February.

I attach a copy of a letter that was sent to you yesterday by post which you do not appear to have received.

You also do not seem to have been informed by the Commissioner whom I spoke to earlier this week and said that she was going to speak to you about Mr Kapasi's suggestion is that an independent analysis of his books and records should be undertaken on behalf of the committee. Given that they are financial, it seems appropriate that the independent audit, as would be usual, should be undertaken by a firm of accountants. I think all other matters I dealt with in our letter of 8 February.
