Letter from the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr John W Thomas
Thank you for your letter of the 13th, I note
that your investigation is shortly to be concluded.
However you will recall that at the time of
your first letter to me we subsequently spoke on the telephone.
In that conversation you informed me that your investigation was
only concerned with Members of Parliamentary and possible breaches
of the Code of Conduct relating to Members of Parliament. You
also indicated that it was not part of your function to raise
questions relating to the internal workings of the Labour Party.
It would be helpful therefore if you would kindly
let me know the immediate relevance of the information you seek
so that I can properly understand the basis for your questions.
