Letter to Mr John W Thomas from the Parliamentary
Commissioner for Standards
Thank you for your letter of 9 August 2000 which
we received on 16 August. You ask me about my requests to you
which I made in my letter of 13 July.
I need your answers to the questions set out
in my letter in order to confirm or disprove information provided
to me during my enquiry concerning a Member of Parliament.
It is not my role to make any enquiries into
the workings of the Labour Party and I have not done so.
I would be grateful to receive your reply by
return as I am unable to complete my report without accurate facts.
May I thank you again for your assistance.
