Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr John W Thomas
Thank you for letter of 31 August 2000, I'm
sorry that my letter of 9 August took so long to reach your hands.
Thank you for confirming that it is not your
role to make enquiries into the workings of the Labour Party,
however your letter of the 13 July appears to do just exactly
that. It appears to question my conduct. As you have stated
previously I am not the subject of any inquiry.
You state in your letter that your report must
report "accurate facts". In your letter of 13 July you
have not placed any facts before me to comment on, if you
do not have any, then I do not believe that I can help you futher.
