Select Committee on Standards and Privileges Third Report

Annex 88

Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards from Mr Colin Hall, Chairman, Leicester East Constituency Labour Party

MR M KAMAL—COMPLAINT

Thank you for your e-mail of 23 May 2000.

Further to my previous correspondence, I have now received a further copy of Mr Kamal's letter, which I enclose for your information, this time inside the relevant envelope.

I have also been advised by my local Councillor John Thomas, that he and several of his colleagues at Leicester City Council have also received a copy of the letter. He is naturally concerned about its widespread circulation. I have urged him to contact you directly on this matter, forwarding his copy of the document, and suggested that his colleagues do likewise.

In addition, I am grateful to you for supplying me with the relevant Committee Report giving details of the investigation process.

In the meantime, I have also been contacted by Steven Mark & A Sandall concerning a request to give evidence to the Standards and Privileges Committee on 6 June and have replied to them separately.
