Letter to Mr Keith Vaz MP from the Parliamentary
Commissioner for Standards
I have today received a complaint from Mr Andrew
Milne, copy attached, alleging that you were given £2,000
by Mr S R Zaiwalla in 1994 but that you did not register it. He
also says he believes Mr Zaiwalla made other payments to you which
were not registered.
Mr Milne also alleges that after the General
Election you agreed to use your influence to stop an investigation
by the Inland Revenue of Mr Zaiwalla's tax affairs.
I would be grateful for your response to these
allegations and any information you wish to put before me. If
you would prefer to discuss these matters perhaps you would telephone
this office to arrange a convenient time.
