Letter to Finers Stephens Innocent, Solicitors,
from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards
Thank you for your fax of 21 June 2000.
The only matter outstanding is the arrangement
for me to meet Mr Kapasi. I shall be happy to discuss any other
points you, or he, wish to raise on that occasion.
I have replied to the concerns about Sir Peter
Soulsby in my letter to Mr Kapasi of today (21 June) which was
copied to you.
I assure you that I have no wish to drive any
wedge between you and your client, but as I had not had the responses
from you or him as promised it was necessary that I inform Mr
Kapasi, as it is he who had responsibilities to Parliament and
is a witness to my enquiry.
I would be grateful for your assistance in arranging
the meeting with Mr Kapasi.
