Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr Nick Montagu CB, Chairman, Inland Revenue
Thank you for your letter of 12 April about
Keith Vaz MP.
I have asked my Special Compliance Office to
review the tax papers for Mr Zaiwalla, and they have told me that
there is nothing held to suggest any contact from Mr Vaz. They
have also spoken to the Inspectors who have dealt with Mr Zaiwalla's
affairs since 1995 and confirmed that no approaches have been
made to them by any MPs on behalf of Mr Zaiwalla.
