Subject: John Reid/John Maxton complaint
In relation to the Lobbying story published by the
Observer last year, I won scoop of the year at the Bank of Scotland
Press Awards 2000. The panel of judges was chaired by High Court
Judge Lord McCluskey. The judges` commented that "the great
virtue of the "Lobbygate" scoop by Dean Nelson of the
Observer was that it fired an important warning shot across the
bows of the new parliament and is bound to have a continuing and
healthy effect upon the political climate in Scotland."
