Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr Jonathan Upton
Thank you for your letter of 15 June 2000. The point
that I was making in my letter to you was that information about
an individual`s salary is confidential between the Labour Party
and the individual.
Whilst I am unhappy about a potential breach of confidentiality,
I am prepared to let you have photocopies of the payslips on which
I based the information which I sent to you on 22 May 2000. I
trust that you are able to accept this as evidence of the accuracy
of my assurance that these were the amounts paid to Mr Chris Winslow
and Mr Kevin Reid.
