Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from the Rt Hon Donald Dewar MP MSP
I am in receipt of your letter of 20 April 2000.
I am afraid I am not in a position to help with your
enquiries. During the campaign for the Scottish Parliament I spent
most of my time travelling the country. John Rafferty was of course
based at the Scottish Labour Party`s Headquarters in Glasgow during
the campaign so we had only limited contact. I have no recollection
of any conversation at any time with Mr Rafferty of the nature
you describe in your first question. Your further questions on
that matter therefore fall.
