Letter to the Rt Hon Dr John Reid MP from
the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards
Following a telephone call from your office on Tuesday
4 April I am writing to confirm the arrangements that were made
for us to have a meeting at 5.30 pm on Wednesday 19 April 2000
in my office in 7 Millbank. Please come to room 418, on the 4th
The purpose of the meeting is for me to clarify the
details of your response to the complaint which I have been investigating.
For the sake of completeness I felt I should add that when we
do meet I shall be requesting you to allow the meeting to be tape
recorded so that I have a precise record of what you wish to say
to me. As usual I will of course provide you with a copy of the
transcript so that you may correct it before I make use of it.
I shall be accompanied by a colleague who will also take a note.
You are of course welcome to be accompanied if you wish it. I
hope you will be happy with these arrangements but if you would
like to talk through any of these matters again, please do not
hesitate to contact me
