Letter to Mr John Maxton MP from the Parliamentary
Commissioner for Standards
I have received a complaint from Mr Dean Nelson alleging
that you used House of Commons allowances to pay salaries to a
full time campaigner in the Labour Party`s Scottish Parliament
election campaign, and that you misled the Fees Office by describing
Chris Winslow as your researcher. I attach a copy of the letter.
I have decided that this is a matter which I should
investigate and I would be grateful to receive your comments on
the allegations and any evidence you wish me to consider.
