Annex 33
Letter to the Parliamentary Commissioner
for Standards from Mr John Maxton MP
Thank you for the message you left for me on my voice
mail service.
I do appreciate the speed of your response. However
I would be grateful if you could write to me re-iterating the
points you made in your message.
In particular, I would ask you to clarify your statement
that the complainant is Mr Nelson and not the Observer newspaper.
I attach a copy of the original message sent to you by Mr Nelson
and the message you sent to your assistant and then to me. You
will note that it clearly states that the complaint comes from
the Observer. It would therefore be helpful if you could tell
me why you believe the complainant is Mr Nelson.
