WORK OF THE TREASURY COMMITTEE AND TREASURY
SUB-COMMITTEE: THE GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE TO THE COMMITTEE'S FIRST
REPORT OF SESSION 2000-01
1. On 20 December 2000 we published our First Report,
The Work of the Treasury Committee and Treasury Sub-committee,
as House of Commons Paper No. 41. We have now received a Government
Response, which relates to the recommendations on Inland Revenue
and Customs and Excise contained in the Sub-committee's contribution
to our Report. We set out the response below.
2. At the time of publication of our Report, we were
unable to print part of the Treasury's Memorandum on progress
on previous Committee recommendations (Appendix 1 to the Report),
because of a court case in progress. We now append the missing
section.
