    Clause No. 1 (Exclusion of candidate selection from the 1975 Act)

    Amendment (No. 2) proposed in page 2, line 3, at the end to insert the words—'(f)   elections to the Greater London Assembly;

    (g)   elections to any body which may replace those listed in this subsection.'—(Mrs Theresa May).

    Question proposed, That the Amdendment be made.

Proceedings in Standing Committee

    3.—(1)   Proceedings in the Standing Committee shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Thursday 8th November 2001.

    (2)   The Standing Committee shall have leave to sit twice on the first day on which it meets.


ORDER OF THE COMMITTEE (6TH NOVEMBER 2001)

That—     (1)   during proceedings on the Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Bill the Standing Committee do meet on Tuesday at half-past Ten o'clock and on Thursdays at five minutes to Ten o'clock and at half-past Two o'clock;

    (2)   proceedings on the Bill shall, so far as not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion at Seven o'clock on Thursday 8th November.
