To move the following Clause:—

    '( )   The Secretary of State may make a payment to a person in respect of travel expenses which the person has incurred or will incur for the purposes of obtaining legal advice, assistance or representation on any matter relating to their immigration or asylum status, or in connection with any conditions placed upon them, appeals, or the practice, system and procedures of immigration control.'.


Consultation on data collection

*To move the following Clause:—

    '(1)   Before issuing the code referred to in sections 97 and 98, the Secretary of State must—

      (a) consult such persons as he considers appropriate; and

      (b) lay a draft before both Houses of Parliament.

    (2)   After laying the draft code before Parliament, the Secretary of State may bring the code into operation by an order.

    (3)   The Secretary of State may from time to time revise the whole or any part of the code and issue the code as revised.

    (4)   Subsection (3) also applies to any revision, or proposed revision, of the code.'.


Disclosure of information: duty to inform

    '(1)   Where information is provided pursuant to sections 100, 101, 104, 105 and 106 the person must be informed at the same time by the provider of the information that information has been disclosed.

    (2)   The person must be given the opportunity to challenge the accuracy of any information provided.'.

    (3)   Proceedings in the Standing Committee shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Thursday 16th May.

    (4)   The Standing Committee shall have leave to sit twice on the first day on which it meets.

       That the Order of 24th April (Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Bill (Programme)) be amended by the substitution in paragraph (3) (proceedings in Standing Committee) of the words 'Tuesday 21st May' for the words 'Thursday 16th May'.


ORDER OF THE COMMITTEE [30TH APRIL]

       That—

      (1) during proceedings on the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Bill the Standing Committee do meet when the House is sitting on Tuesdays at half-past Ten o'clock and half-past Four o'clock and on Thursdays at Nine o'clock and half-past Two o'clock, except that on Thursday 2nd May the Committee shall not meet and on Tuesday 7th May the Committee shall not meet at half-past Four o'clock;

      (2) the proceedings to be taken on a sitting shall be as shown in the second column of the Table below and shall be taken in the order so shown;

      (3) the proceedings which under paragraph (2) are to be taken on any sitting shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the time specified in the third column of the Table;

      (4) paragraph (2) does not prevent proceedings being taken (in the order shown in the second column of the Table) on any earlier sitting than that provided for under paragraph (2) if all previous proceedings have already been concluded.
