Mr. Howarth: Is it not the case that the British troops have every interest in ensuring that the ordnance is cleared? If it is not cleared, it poses a real danger to our troops.
Mr. Ingram: Absolutely. Ours is not the only Army that uses that particular range, and as my hon. Friend said, the Kenyans have a responsibility as well.
The motion having been made after Ten o'clock, and the debate having continued for half an hour, Mr. Deputy Speaker adjourned the House without Question put, pursuant to the Standing Order.
Adjourned at thirteen minutes to Eleven o'clock.
That this House takes note with approval of the Government's assessment as set out in the Financial Statement and Budget Report 200102, and the Economic and Fiscal Strategy Report 200102 for the purposes of section 5 of the European Communities (Amendment) Act 1993.
The House divided: Ayes 318, Noes 179.
