NORTHERN IRELAND
Plastic Baton Rounds
Mr. McNamara:
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps have been taken to dispose of L5A7 plastic baton rounds; and how many have been retained for future use. [17763]
Jane Kennedy:
All stocks of L5A7 baton rounds held by the police in Northern Ireland have been disposed of to the Ministry of Defence and none have been retained for future use.
Public Bodies
Mr. McNamara:
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list those public bodies that are not designated for the purposes of section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. [38295]
Mr. Browne:
Under section 75(3)(a) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has the authority to designate "any department, corporation or body listed in Schedule 2 to the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967 . . ."
The most recent list of bodies under Schedule 2 to the 1967 Act totals 237. Of these, 26 have been designated and a further 39 remain under consideration. These are:
