    London Local Authorities Bill [Lords] [Petition for Additional Provision]

Mr Nick Raynsford, Minister for Local Government and the Regions, Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, has made the following report:

'Standing Order 98A of the House of Lords requires me to report on a Petition for Additional Provision to this Bill in respect of the statement of opinion required by Standing Order 38 relating to the compatibility of the proposals with the European Convention on Human Rights.The promoters have undertaken such an assessment and are satisfied that the provisions contained in the Petition for Additional Provision to this Bill are compatible with Convention rights under the ECHR and I see no need to dispute their conclusions.'.
