Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to the Chief Executive
of the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority
LEE VALLEY ATHLETICS STADIUM
I gather that the Lee Valley Park Authority
is meeting today to discuss the Lee Valley Stadium. I just wanted
to confirm the Government are determined to put in place the best
possible facilities for the 2005 World Championships and that
we believe that the Lee Valley Stadium offers the best potential
to bring this about.
I appreciate that there is still a lot more
work to be done on this project but I hope that the final feasibility
work can be got underway quickly. We will continue to work with
you, UK Athletics and Sport England to deliver the best possible
solution for the 2005 World Championships.
