APPENDIX 15
Memorandum submitted by Mr William McQuillan
THE BBC
The BBC is allegedly a public broadcasting corporation,
required by Law to be impartial, a necessary condition for its
source of finance, namely an obligatory licence fee.
It is not impartial, nor is it free from commercial
ramifications. It is riddled with political bias, heavily orientated
towards the economics of Friedman, and accordingly saturated with
every conceivable technique of advertising. The plethora of American
programmes simply provides more evidence of this allegation, and
is in sharp contrast to its "British" description.
I protest to the Committee in the strongest
possible terms that this disgrace is allowed to continue.
