Proposal for the Regulatory Reform (Special Occasion
Licensing) Order July 2001
I am in receipt of your letter of 19th
July 2001 in relation to the above, which was considered by the
Committee.
The ideal situation would be for the Order to be
in place in time for licensees to plan for New Year's
Eve 2001 but because many licensees can quickly put in place plans
to accommodate the relaxation of hours, the Committee would urge
the Government to press on with the procedure to bring into effect
the arrangements for this New Year's
Eve and subsequent New Year Eves.
