Ordered, That the public
be admitted during the examination of witnesses unless the Committee

Ordered, That those who
submit Memoranda to the Committee, other than Government Departments,
have leave to publish them in accordance with the provisions of
Standing Order No. 135(1) except in cases of extreme sensitivity
where the Clerk is authorised to refer the matter to the Committee.(The

Ordered, That the uncorrected
transcripts of oral evidence given by Ministers of the Crown,
unless the Committee orders otherwise, be published on the Internet.-(The

Resolved, That the Committee
do inquire into Departmental Responsibilities for Sustainable
Development.(The Chairman.)
Resolved, That the Committee
do inquire into Sustainable Energy.(The Chairman.)
Resolved, That the Committee
do hold an informal seminar.(The Chairman.)
Ordered, That the Committee
do seek the approval of the Liaison Committee for the expenditure
in connection with the said seminar.
Draft Special Report, proposed by the Chairman, brought
up and read.
Ordered, That the draft
Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.
Paragraphs 1 to 2 read and agreed to.
Resolved, That the Report
be the First Special Report of the Committee to the House.
Ordered, That the Government's
response to the First Report from the Committee in the last Parliament,
Session 2000-2001 [The Pre-Budget Report 2000: Fuelling the Debate]
be appended to the Report.(The Chairman.)
The Committee deliberated.
