Ordered, That all the
members of the Disposal of Refrigerators Sub-committee be members
of the Hazardous Waste Sub-committee when that Sub-committee is

Ordered, That Mr David

Meat Imports Sub-committee when that Sub-committee is appointed.(The

Ordered, That Paddy Tipping
be Chairman of the Illegal Meat Imports Sub-committee when that
Sub-committee is appointed.(The Chairman.)
Resolved, That the Committee
do inquire into the Annual Report of the Department for Environment,
Food and Rural Affairs and into the Role of the Department for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.(The Chairman.)
Ordered, That Professor Sir John Marsh
and Professor Kerry Turner, CBE, be appointed Specialist Advisers
to assist the Committee in its inquiries into the Annual Report
of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and
into the Role of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural
Affairs.(The Chairman.)
Future of UK Agriculture: Mr Jonathan Peel, Director,
EU and International Policy, Food and Drink Federation, Dr Simon
Harris, Director for Corporate Affairs, British Sugar, Ruth Rawling,
Vice President, Public Affairs Europe, Cargill plc, Erica Town,
Export Manager, Nestlé UK, and Mr Neil Makin, External
Affairs Director, Cadbury Schweppes plc, were examined.
Mr John Drakeford, Senior Manager and Principal,
and Mr Gary Hutchings, Consultant, Guy Carpenter and Company Limited,
were examined.
Mr Andrew Barnard, immediate past Chairman, Mr Martin
Humphrey, Member of the Feed Executive Committee, Mr Jim Reed,
Chief Executive, and Mr Paul Rooke, Policy Director, United Kingdom
Agricultural Supply Trade Association, were examined.
