FORCE: AVON AND SOMERSET CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in August 1999 and is still on-going.
To date, five persons have been arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to two individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and to date they have decided to take "no further action" in one of those cases.
A trial is pending.
During this investigation, 206 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
FORCE: CAMBRIDGESHIRE CONSTABULARY
Case Numbers: 1-5
This force has investigated a total of five cases during the relevant period as detailed below:
1. Commenced in 1999 and was a six month enquiry
2. Commenced in 1999 and has recently been finalised at court
3. Commenced in 2000 and is still on-going
4. Commenced in 2000 and is still on-going
5. Commenced in 2001 and is still on-going
In the above investigations a total of 13 persons were arrested in all.
Cases in relation to three individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice to date and they decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases.
To date, there have been eight successful prosecutions and no acquittals.
During these investigations, 36 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: CHESHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in 1994 and concluded in 1999.
During this investigation 16 persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to 30 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in 21 of those cases.
There were six successful prosecutions with two further trials discontinued due to the offenders being too ill to stand trial. One other case was discontinued at court.
During this investigation, 163 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in 1993 and concluded in 2001.
During this investigation 10 persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to 25 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in 17 of those cases.
There were four successful prosecutions, two acquittals, and four trials were discontinued at court.
During this investigation, 175 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 3
The investigation commenced in 1993 and is still on-going.
To date, 16 persons have been arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 41 individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and to date they have decided to take "no further action" in 33 of those cases.
To date, there have been five successful prosecutions, one acquittal, and one case was discontinued at court.
During this investigation, 91 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
Case Number: 4
The investigation commenced in 1997 and is still on-going.
To date, six persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to nine individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in six of those cases.
One offender is currently awaiting trial, and there have been two acquittals.
During this investigation, 49 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 5
The investigation commenced in January 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, four persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to four individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases.
To date, there has been two successful prosecutions and one trial has been discontinued at court.
During this investigation, 70 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in January 2000 and is still on-going.
To date, no persons have yet been arrested and 34 victims allege that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: CUMBRIA CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in March 1998 and concluded in June 1998.
No persons were arrested in this investigation.
Cases in relation to three individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, following which they decided to take "no further action" in all three cases.
During this investigation, 13 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: DEVON AND CORNWALL
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in July 1999 and is still on-going.
To date, 15 persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to 18 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for either advice or following charge, and they have decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases. A further 23 persons have been subject of "no further action" in accordance with an agreed policy between the SIO and CPS.
To date, there have been 10 successful prosecutions and no acquittals.
During this investigation, 369 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: DURHAM CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in September 1998 and concluded in June 1999.
No persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 18 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they decided to take "no further action" in all cases.
During this investigation, 25 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: DYFED POWYS POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in July 2000 and concluded in June 2001.
Two persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 16 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they subsequently decided to take "no further action" in all cases.
During this investigation, 25 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: GLOUCESTERSHIRE CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in February 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, six persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to seven individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice to date, and they have decided to take "no further action" in five of those cases.
To date, there has been one successful prosecution and one acquittal.
During this investigation, 81 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in January 2000 and concluded in December 2000.
During the investigation no persons were arrested.
A case in relation to one individual was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in that case.
During this investigation, nine victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: GREATER MANCHESTER POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in January 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, 28 persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to 10 individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in one of those cases.
To date, there has been two successful prosecutions and one acquittal. Four persons are currently awaiting trial.
During this investigation, 322 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: GWENT POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in January 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, nine persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to nine individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they have decided to take "no further action" in three of those cases. In addition, the CPS have also recommended "no further action" in 34 matters where the offenders were not arrested/interviewed.
To date, there have been three successful prosecutions and three acquittals.
During this investigation, 191 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: HAMPSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in November 2000 and is now completed.
No persons were arrested in this investigation, and a file of evidence was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service in relation to four suspects where they decided to take "no further action".
During this investigation, two victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in November 2000 and the case is awaiting prosecution.
During the investigation two persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to two individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they decided to take "no further action" in one of those cases.
A trial for one person is impending.
During this investigation, six victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in November 2000 and is still on-going.
To date, no persons have been arrested and the enquiry is still progressing.
During this investigation, 319 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in May 2000 and concluded in November 2000.
During the investigation, two persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to three individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases.
There has been one successful prosecution and no acquittals to date.
During this investigation, 13 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: HUMBERSIDE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in April 2001 and is still on-going. Statistics are not yet available in relation to this case due to the infancy of the investigation. However to date, 17 victims have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in August 1999 and is still on-going.
To date, three persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to eight individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in five of those cases. Matters in relation to the other cases are still ongoing.
During this investigation, 38 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in June 2000 and concluded in February 2001.
During the investigation, no persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to 19 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in all cases.
During this investigation, 22 victims to date alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in April 2001 and is still on-going.
During the investigation, no persons have been arrested to date.
A case in relation to one individual has been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and a decision is awaited.
During this investigation, 12 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in January 1999 and concluded in April 1999.
During the investigation, three persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to three individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in all those cases.
During this investigation, five victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

During this investigation, one person was arrested.
Cases in relation to six individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in all of those cases.
During this investigation, six victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: KENT CONSTABULARY
Case Numbers: 1-3
Three cases have been investigated during the stated period as follows:
1. Commenced in July 1998 and is still on-going.
2. Commenced in October 1998 and concluded in June 1999.
3. Commenced in February 1999 and concluded in June 1999.
The following data is provided as a total for all three investigations.
Three persons were arrested during the investigations.
Cases in relation to eight individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they decided to take "no further action" in all cases.
During these investigations, 47 victims were traced or came forward as potential victims.
FORCE: LANCASHIRE CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in November 1998 and concluded in March 2000.
Nine persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to all the individuals arrested were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they proceeded with all cases.
To date, there has been one successful prosecution with no acquittals, however one case was dismissed, one case ordered to lie on file, and four stayed on the grounds of abuse of process.
During this investigation, 83 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in July 2000 is still on-going.
To date, eight persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to seven individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service to date for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases.
To date, there have been no prosecutions in this case but there are a number pending.
During this investigation, 99 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: LEICESTERSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in October 1998 and one person was arrested and successfully prosecuted. During this investigation eight victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in June 1998 and concluded in August 2000.
Three persons were arrested during this investigation.
Cases in relation to the three arrested were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, following which they decided to take "no further action" in two of those cases.
The other person was successfully prosecuted.
During this investigation, 33 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
Case Number: 3
The investigation commenced in November 1999 and is still on-going.
To date, no persons have yet beeen arrested, however 111 victims have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: LINCOLNSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in December 1997 and concluded in March 2001.
13 persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 14 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in five of those cases.
There were three successful prosecutions and one acquittal.
During this investigation, 40 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: MERSEYSIDE POLICE
Case Number: 1
This investigation is into 106 different establishments or care settings and commenced in April 1996 and is still on-going.
86 persons have been arrested during this investigation to date.
It is the policy in this case that all matters are referred to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice before any person is charged. To date, CPS have taken "no further action" in 73 cases, and additionally, 42 cases have been subject of NFA decisions by the SIO without referral to the CPS.
To date, there have been 29 successful prosecutions and eight acquittals.
During this investigation, 697 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.
FORCE: METROPOLITAN POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in October 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, 14 persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to six individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to "take no further action" in three of those cases.
To date, there has been one successful prosecution and trials in relation to two other persons are pending. There have been no acquittals.
During this investigation, 27 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in November 1998 and is still on-going.
To date, eight persons have been arrested.
Cases in relation to six individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in four of those cases.

During this investigation, 12 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in March 2000 and concluded in June 2000.
During the investigation, two persons were arrested.
Cases in relation to the two individuals arrested were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in both of those cases.
During this investigation, four victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

FORCE: NORTHUMBRIA POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in May 1997 and concluded in February 2001.
60 persons were arrested during this investigation.
Cases in relation to 93 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for either advice or following charge, and they have decided to take "no further action" in 60 of those cases and a decision is still awaited on a further one case.
There were five successful prosecutions and a further three awaiting trial. Nine persons were acquitted, and 15 cases were not prosecuted.
FORCE: NORTH WALES POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in October 1991 and concluded in August 2000.
25 persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 497 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they decided to take "no further action" in all but 15 of those cases referred to them.
There were 13 successful prosecutions and two acquittals.
During this investigation, approximately 500 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
FORCE: NORTH YORKSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in September 1997 and concluded in April 2000.
10 persons were arrested during this investigation.
Cases in relation to 23 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in 13 of those cases.
There were five successful prosecutions and five acquittals.
During this investigation, approximately 44 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in September 1997 and concluded in April 2000.
Five persons were arrested in this investigation.
Cases in relation to 11 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in eight of those cases.

During this investigation, 29 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

FORCE: NOTTINGHAMSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in March 1998 and a re-trial is now pending.
Two persons were arrested during this investigation.
Cases in relation to two individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for either advice or following charge. One case is awaiting CPS advice, the other offender proceeded to court and the case was acquitted; however a re-trail is pending.
During this investigation, 13 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in September 2000 where one person was arrested and a trial is now pending.
During this investigation, nine victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 3
The investigation commenced in May 2000 and concluded in February 2001.
One person was arrested however following the investigation no further action was taken by police due to the lack of evidence.
FORCE: SOUTH WALES POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in September 1996 and concluded in August 1998.
Nine persons were arrested during the investigation.
Cases in relation to 31 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they decided to take "no further action" in 22 of those cases. The CPS agreed with the SIO's decision to take NFA on a further 117 allegations of abuse.
Following the investigation there were two successful prosecutions and two acquittals.
During this investigation, 179 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in April 1997 and is still on-going.
To date, 58 persons have been arrested during the investigation.
To date, cases in relation to 58 individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice and they have decided to take "no further action" in 32 of those cases.
To date there have been 11 successful prosecutions and one acquittal; a further five are currently awaiting trial.
During this investigation, 399 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
FORCE: SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in January 1999 and concluded in April 1999.
During the investigation one person was arrested.
A case in relation to the one individual arrested was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action".
During this investigation, one victim alleged that he/she was subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in July 2000 and concluded in October 2000.
One person was arrested during this investigation and he was successfully prosecuted.
During this investigation, one victim alleged that he/she was subject of abuse.

FORCE: STAFFORDSHIRE POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in January 1998 and ran for 6 months.
During the investigation two persons were arrested
A case in relation to one individual was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service, however the offender committed suicide after charge.
During this investigation, 30 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in June 1999 and is still on-going.
During the investigation, 14 persons have been arrested to date.
Cases in relation to 15 individuals have been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they have decided to take "no further action" in eight of those cases to date.
During this investigation, 195 victims to date have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

During the investigation, one person was arrested.

The investigation commenced in January 2000 and ran for two months.
During this investigation, five victims alleged that they were subject of abuse however following investigation no further action was taken by the Police. No persons were arrested in this investigation.

There were 37 further investigations that only involved one victim in each of those cases. There were no prosecutions or acquittals in any of those cases, with "no further action" being taken either by the Police or the CPS.
FORCE: SUFFOLK POLICE
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in October 1998 and concluded in February 1999.
One person was arrested during this investigation, and the case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, following which they decided to take "no further action".
During this investigation, 10 victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in August 1999 and concluded in October 1999.
One person was arrested during this investigation, and this case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service who decided to proceed with the case. This case was, however, withdrawn prior to trial.
During this investigation, two victims alleged that they had been subject of abuse.
FORCE: SURREY POLICE

This force has investigated a total of six cases during the relevant period as detailed below:

FORCE: WEST MERCIA CONSTABULARY
Case Number: 1
The investigation commenced in September 1998 and concluded in January 2001.
Two persons were arrested in this investigation.
Cases in relation to 11 individuals were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in all cases.
During this investigation, 32 victims alleged that they were subject of abuse.
Case Number: 2
The investigation commenced in December 2000 and is still on-going.
No persons have yet been arrested in this investigation and to date 12 victims have alleged that they were subject of abuse.

The investigation commenced in March 1999 and concluded in May 2000.
Four persons were arrested in this investigation.
Cases in relation to the four persons arrested were forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service for advice, and they decided to take "no further action" in three of these cases.

The investigation commenced in January 2000 and is still on-going.
To date, six persons have been arrested.

To date, there have been two successful prosecutions and one other person is awaiting trial. There have been no acquittals.
