  The Role of Private Sector in the NHS: Councillor Kevin Earley, Chairman, and Mr Steven Mason, Chief Executive, North Durham Health Care NHS Trust, Mr Anthony Raben, Chairman, Mr Mike Archibold, Chief Executive, and Mr Jeff Thornton, Shareholder Director, Consort Healthcare (Durham) Ltd, and Mr John Flook, Director, Finance, County Durham and Darlington Health Authority, were examined.

  Jan Lemmon, Staff Nurse and RCN Steward, and Patricia Bottrill, Member, RCN Council, Royal College of Nursing, Mr Stephen Weeks, National Officer, Mr David Price, Adviser, and Mr Robin Moss, Head of Health, Northern Region, UNISON, were examined.

  Mr Stephen Mason, Mr Anthony Raben and Mr John Flook, were further examined.
